Palaces
Palaces are representative residences of rulers, aristocrats and powerful families, distinguished by their magnificent architecture and rich interior design. Unlike castles, they did not have a defensive function, but were symbols of power, prestige and luxury. They were built from the Renaissance, reaching the peak of their development in the Baroque and Classicism eras, when they were built on a grand scale, surrounded by extensive gardens and parks.
